YESSSSSS

Good for: 8 years old/3rd grade+Best for: 9 years old/4th grade+This book is really good. It has a good message about being yourself, but also acknowledges some of the consequences that being yourself can have. It understands what it means to be true to yourself, and how and why some people struggle to accept themselves. I also like the cultural context added to the book which definilty helped me personally relate to it more.

Stargazing

I think this is a good story with a little bit of scariness for younger readers, so I'd rate this for kids of 9 years of age and older. I do adore the unlikely friendship between Christine and Moon, and it really was a page-turner. I enjoyed the book overall.

Wonderful book; some mature themes

There’s nothing inappropriate about it, but younger kids might have trouble understanding all the medical drama. One of the characters is hospitalized and has a brain tumor. But a very good and interesting read that I recommend for 8+.

Good book

It’s a pretty good book and (spoiler alert) when Moon gets into the hospital for the brain tumor, it’s really page turning. It’s a quick read, but it’s good! For younger kids, they might not understand why moon got in the hospital and there’s a tiny bit of violence. I would definitely recommend you to read this book.
