How does NuPay work? ›

The relevant transaction is authenticated on the terminal and registered to NuPay, where it is then housed, managed and uploaded for payment to the relevant bank on the action date. DebiCheck enables a merchant to load future-dated transactions on a 3rd party's account, which can be authenticated via multiple methods such as USSD, online banking and via card and PIN. Instructions are submitted for early morning processing with multiple presentations over a user-defined tracking period.

The NuCard system is a secure electronic facility whereby a registered merchant can pass a credit value to you as the end consumer on an electronic card. You can then use the credit value stored on the card for card payments at any MasterCard POS pay point, or can withdraw cash from any ATM.

Debicheck is a secure debit order payment system which allows you to electronically approve your debit order details with your bank. An approved DebiCheck debit order mandate is required to pay your money into your bank account and collect your monthly instalments.

When a new DebiCheck debit order is created on your account, we'll send a verification code to your cellphone. You can then review the debit order and approve or reject it. If you approve it, we'll only process payments on the terms agreed. If you reject it, we won't authorise it.

The approved mandate will not expire if the creditor registers an electronic mandate at the start of a contract and does not use it for DebiCheck collections within a set period. The mandate will remain active until it is required, or cancelled, by the creditor.

As your work day ends and your hours are approved by your manager, you build up a balance in your DailyPay account that is available now and can be transferred into your bank account, to your debit card or to your payroll card. What's available now is updated when you clock out of each shift.
